Friday 30 August 2013

I was recently woken up one night by a twit-twooing owl so I decided to draw one. My aunty then christened it 'Granny Cullens'.

Aww I really hope Tian Tian is preggers! I actually still haven't visited Edinburgh's Pandas...

Still clinging onto summer with my west coast inspired drawings!

Barnacle Geese.

I just got back from the Isle of Coll where my boyfriend's parents live. Ali asked me to do a drawing for his Mum so I wanted to draw something fitting. I think the geese in this bleached wood effect frame work well in an island home.

A christening present for a new baby. Baby Ruaridh's Granny has knitted him a bear called Murphy, so I created some personal artwork with snippets from a story about their adventures together, written by Marion - Ruaridh's auntie!

Russell.

I love drawing birds right now, I feel like I can be more loose with my style as it gives them more character if I splash paint and scribble lots.

Rooster 30.04.13

Rooster is a Hungarian Vizsla pup, I love how he hasn't grown into his wrinkles yet! His owner has very big feet, so we thought it would be interesting to include them and their size next to the tiny puppy.

 Oliver.

I used a much more graphic style when painting the background and was more outgoing with my colour palette. I think i'll try and do more like this soon...

I'm slowly taking over all the walls in the house! Trying to frame all kept originals to keep them safe.

Monday 25 February 2013

This is how the boxes turned out.

The flower designs were really fun to paint, i'm definitely going to apply a looser style to all my foliage/flowers/backgrounds from now on.
Two of my friends had birthdays last weekend and with my artist's budget I decided to make their gifts. I baked cupcakes and made these little boxes to put them in.

I'm quite proud, I made a box and it actually worked!
A small sample of how it's turning out.

Trying out drawing some loose work to put together into a repeat pattern. I want to combine the popular style of patterns with my little animals to make something a little different.

Starting with blackbirds and blackberries...

The sun is shining so i'm being optimistic hoping that Spring is almost here... so I drew a duckling!

Tuesday 22 January 2013

I drew this for fun just before I went skiing on the 5th, it was the cover picture for my facebook page.

I love marmottes, they are seriously under appreciated.
